Automated Commercial Environment (ACE)

Tags: Glossary

A system used by U.S. Customs and Border Protection to manage the electronic exchange of data related to international trade.

What is Automated Commercial Environment (ACE)?

The Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) is a modernized electronic system developed by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agency to facilitate the processing of commercial trade transactions. It is designed to replace the previous Automated Commercial System (ACS), which was used to process customs declarations and other trade-related documentation.

The ACE system allows importers, exporters, and their agents to electronically file documents and data required for trade with the United States, such as customs declarations, entry summaries, and other related forms. ACE provides a single window for filing trade documents and communicating with CBP, making the clearance process more efficient, predictable, and streamline
