A document detailing extra charges in logistics.

What does Miscellaneous Charges Order Signifies?

A Miscellaneous Charges Order (MCO) is a document used in logistics and freight management to account for various additional charges or services associated with the transportation of goods.

What’s Included in MCO?

An MCO itemizes the additional charges or services provided. These can include but are not limited to handling fees, storage charges, re-routing costs, or special equipment requirements. Each charge listed on the MCO includes the associated cost or rate. This provides a detailed breakdown of the financial aspects of the shipment.

An MCO typically references the primary shipping document, such as the bill of lading or freight invoice, to establish a clear link between the main transaction and the supplementary charges. Usually, both the shipper and the carrier must sign the MCO to acknowledge and authorize the additional charges.
