What is included in Shipper's Export Declaration (SED)?

A Shipper’s Export Declaration (SED) is a document that is required by the U.S. government for most exports valued over $2,500. The purpose of the SED is to collect data on U.S. exports for statistical purposes and to enforce U.S. laws related to exports. The SED provides information such as the exporter’s name and address, the consignee’s name and address, a description of the goods being exported, the value of the goods, the country of origin, and the ultimate destination of the goods.
