What is Bay Plan?

A bay plan, also known as a stowage plan or layout plan, is a visual representation or document that illustrates the allocation of cargo or containers within a vessel or shipping container. It outlines the specific location and arrangement of the cargo units in different bays, decks, or holds of a ship.

A bay plan provides critical information for efficient cargo loading and discharge operations, ensuring optimal utilization of space, proper weight distribution, and compliance with safety and stability requirements. It helps to streamline the loading and unloading processes, minimize cargo damage, and facilitate effective cargo tracking and documentation.
