What is a Container on Flatcar (COFC)?

Container on a Flatcar (COFC) is a freight service where empty containers are loaded on the rail’s flatcar to transport them to a different location. The containers are single-stacked and use the national rail network for the movement.

As compared to inland transportation, COFC can offer higher capacity, easier loading, lesser transport lead time, and reduced cost.
