What is a Truck Loading Unloading Charge?

Truck Loading Unloading Charge (TLUC) is a fee associated with the process of loading and unloading goods onto or from trucks at various points in the supply chain. This charge reflects the cost incurred for the labor, equipment, and time required to handle cargo during these essential steps.

What’s Included in TLUC?

TLUC may include charges for the use of handling equipment and machinery, such as cranes, hoists, or conveyor belts, depending on the nature of the cargo. Labor costs are a significant component of TLUC. This includes wages for warehouse workers, loaders, and unloaders who ensure that cargo is handled safely and efficiently.

Certain types of cargo may have unique loading or unloading requirements, so, additional fees may apply to cover specialized equipment or safety measures.
