The Need for Shifting Cargo On-board

Shifting cargo on-board, often referred to as restowing, is a critical process within maritime logistics that involves rearranging and repositioning cargo within a vessel’s cargo holds or containers after the initial loading has taken place.

Maintaining the stability and balance of a vessel is crucial for safe navigation. Therefore, cargo must be distributed evenly to prevent the ship from listing (leaning to one side) or experiencing excessive rolling or pitching.
