Delays to Crane Explained
Delays to cranes, often referred to as crane delays, are disruptions or interruptions in the normal operation of container cranes at a port or terminal.
Crane delays can result from several factors, including equipment breakdowns, maintenance requirements, adverse weather conditions, congested terminal operations, safety concerns, or issues related to cargo handling. Mechanical or technical issues with the container cranes themselves can also lead to delays. This includes malfunctions in the crane’s lifting mechanism, electrical systems, or computerized controls.
