What is Ton-Deadweight?

Ton-deadweight (DWT) is a measurement used in shipping to describe the maximum weight of cargo and fuel that a ship can carry. It includes the weight of the cargo, fuel, crew, and any other supplies needed for the voyage. The tonnage of a ship is often measured in terms of its DWT.
