What is Deck Cargo?

Deck cargo is the term used to describe any cargo that is loaded and transported on the open deck of a ship, as opposed to being stowed in the cargo holds or compartments below deck.

Deck cargo can include a wide variety of items such as vehicles, heavy machinery, equipment, and other oversized or irregularly shaped cargo that cannot be accommodated in the ship’s cargo holds.
