What is Category Hierarchy?

Category Hierarchy in shipping refers to the hierarchical organization of products or items based on their attributes, characteristics, and relationships. It is often used in logistics and supply chain management to help organize and classify products, and to make it easier for companies to manage their inventory and fulfill customer orders.

The category hierarchy typically consists of multiple levels, with each level representing a different grouping of products based on shared attributes or characteristics. For example, in the food industry, the category hierarchy for fresh produce might start at the top level with “Produce”, then move down to “Fruit” and “Vegetables” at the next level, and then further down to more specific categories such as “Berries” and “Leafy Greens”.
