What is a Carnet?

A Carnet, also known as an ATA Carnet, is an international customs document used for temporarily importing and exporting goods for exhibitions, trade shows, and other similar events. It is essentially a passport for goods and simplifies the customs procedures for temporary imports and exports.

Carnet allows goods to move across international borders without the need for paying duties or taxes or through the usual customs clearance procedures. It is accepted by customs officials in over 100 countries, and it is valid for up to one year.

The use of a Carnet can greatly simplify the process of temporary imports and exports, as it eliminates the need for multiple customs declarations, security deposits, and other paperwork. It also provides a standardized document that can be easily recognized and processed by customs officials.
