What is a Bogie?

In shipping, a bogie is a type of chassis used to support and transport shipping containers. A bogie is a set of wheels or a frame that is attached to the bottom of a container and allows it to be moved by a tractor or other vehicle. 

 

Bogies come in different sizes and configurations depending on the type of container they are designed to transport. For example, a bogie for a standard 20-foot container will have a different size and weight capacity than one designed for a larger or heavier container.
