What does Delivered at Frontier (DAF) mean?

Delivered at Frontier (DAF) is an international trade term that specifies that the seller is responsible for delivering the goods to a named point at the frontier, such as a border crossing or a port of entry. The seller is responsible for all costs and risks up to this point, including loading, transportation, export customs clearance and documentation.

Once the goods have been delivered to the frontier, the buyer assumes responsibility for all further costs and risks, such as import customs clearance, duties and taxes, and transportation to the final destination. The buyer is also responsible for obtaining any necessary permits or licenses for the importation of the goods.
