What does Cash on Delivery (COD) mean?

Cash on Delivery (COD) is a payment term used in shipping and e-commerce, which refers to a method of payment where the buyer pays for the goods upon delivery, either in cash or by another agreed-upon payment method.

Under a COD arrangement, the seller ships the goods to the buyer, and the carrier collects payment from the buyer upon delivery. The payment can be made in cash, by check, or by another agreed-upon payment method. Once the payment is received and verified, the carrier will release the goods to the buyer.
