What does Bursting Strength mean?

In shipping, bursting strength refers to the ability of a material or packaging to withstand the pressure or force exerted on it before it ruptures or breaks. It is a measure of the strength and durability of the packaging and is important in ensuring that goods are properly protected during shipping and handling. 

 

Bursting strength is typically measured in pounds per square inch (psi) and is determined using a specialized testing machine called a bursting strength tester. The material or packaging being tested is clamped securely in place and pressure is applied until it ruptures or breaks.
