What is General Rate Increase (GRI)?

General Rate Increase (GRI) is a term used by shipping companies to refer to an increase in rates that applies to all customers.  

 

It is typically used to cover operating costs and is usually a set percentage or dollar amount. This rate increase typically applies to all services, including freight, parcel, and express services.
