Blind Shipment

Tags: Glossary

When a consignee isn't aware of the shipper or its origin.

What is a blind shipment?

A blind shipment is when the original seller or manufacturer does not want to reveal their actual identity to the customers. This type of shipment does not provide any kind of supplier information to the customers but rather the details of the distributor.

The common reason for requesting the blind shipment includes:

  • To make sure there is no direct contact between the seller and buyer.
  • To conceal the information from buyer that the product is from third-party.
