Blank Sailing

Tags: Glossary

A sailing cancelled by the carrier.

What is blank sailing?

Blank sailing, or void sailing occurs when the carrier decides to skip or cancel the shipment on particular ports or regions when on a scheduled route.

There can be a number of reasons why the carrier has to make the decision. It could be bad weather, port congestions, or other changes in market dynamics that can disrupt the shipping schedule.
