What does Icing mean?

Icing in shipping refers to the formation of ice on the ship’s hull or deck due to the extremely cold temperatures encountered during ocean voyages. Ice can accumulate on the ship’s surfaces, causing it to become heavy and unstable, which can increase the risk of accidents or damage. To prevent icing, ships may use a variety of measures, including de-icing chemicals, heating systems, and physical removal of ice.
