What does House to Pier (CY/CFS) mean?

House to Pier (CY/CFS) is a shipping term used to describe a shipping arrangement where the cargo is delivered by the shipper to a container yard (CY) or container freight station (CFS) and then transported to a pier or port for loading onto a vessel.

In this type of shipping arrangement, the shipper is responsible for delivering the cargo to the CY or CFS, where it will be consolidated with other cargo and prepared for shipment. The carrier is then responsible for transporting the cargo from the CY or CFS to the port for loading onto a vessel.
