What does Container Rain refer to?

Container rain, also known as container sweating or container condensation, refers to the buildup of moisture inside a shipping container during transit. This phenomenon occurs when warm, moist air inside the container cools down, causing the water vapor to condense on the cooler surfaces of the container’s walls and cargo. The condensed water droplets can lead to damage to the cargo, particularly for goods that are sensitive to moisture, such as electronics, paper products, or food items. To prevent container rain, shippers may use desiccants or dehumidifiers inside the container to absorb moisture, and proper ventilation and insulation techniques can also help to mitigate the effects of container sweating.
