What is Accredited Standards Committee (ASC)?

The Accredited Standards Committee (ASC) X12 is a non-profit organization that develops and maintains electronic data interchange (EDI) standards for various industries, including shipping and logistics.

Specifically, the ASC X12 has developed a set of standard electronic messages that enable the exchange of business documents such as purchase orders, invoices, and shipment notices between trading partners in the shipping industry. These standards help to streamline the shipping process, reduce errors and delays, and improve overall efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
