What is backhaul?

Backhaul in logistics is the transport of goods from a distribution center, warehouse, or retail store to another destination. Backhaul may refer to the return of products from retailers to suppliers or manufacturers, or between two distribution centers.

Backhauling products can be an important part of the overall supply chain for companies that want to get their goods to market as quickly and efficiently as possible. By using backhaul services, companies can save time and money on shipping costs.
