Overhang Item Logistics: Challenges and Safety Measures

An overhang item, in the context of logistics and transportation, refers to a cargo or load that extends beyond the standard dimensions of the transporting vehicle or container. These items protrude, either in length, width, or height, beyond the designated boundaries of the transport equipment. Overhang items are common in various industries, including construction, manufacturing, and freight, where large or irregularly shaped goods need to be transported.

Examples of Overhang Items are: Large construction machinery like cranes, bulldozers, or excavators, long timber logs, planks, or beams, wind turbine blades, irregularly shaped or oversized machinery components such as tanks or pressure vessels, and Industrial pipes.
