What is Obnoxious Cargo?

Obnoxious cargo refers to goods or materials that pose unique challenges, risks, or concerns during their handling, storage, or transport. These materials often have properties that can be hazardous, unpleasant, or troublesome, requiring specialized precautions, equipment, and expertise.  

 

Examples 

 

Obnoxious Cargo include Hazardous chemicals used in manufacturing processes, research, or agriculture; Radioactive materials, such as medical isotopes or nuclear fuel; Medical specimens and biological materials that may contain infectious agents; Oversized or heavy items; and Waste materials that are toxic, flammable, or otherwise dangerous to the environment and public health. 

Transporting obnoxious cargo may require specialized equipment, such as tanker trucks for liquids, temperature-controlled containers for perishables, or protective packaging for hazardous materials.
