Tags: Glossary

A shipment that has not been claimed by the consignee.

What is an Unclaimed Shipment?

An unclaimed shipment is a shipment of goods that has been delivered to its destination but has not been claimed by the recipient. Unclaimed shipments can occur for a variety of reasons, such as the recipient being unavailable, the shipment being misdirected, or the recipient refusing to accept the delivery. In such cases, the shipping company may attempt to contact the recipient to arrange for delivery or return of the goods.

If the goods remain unclaimed for a specified period of time, they may be considered abandoned and disposed of in accordance with local laws and regulations.
