What is included in Aviation and Transportation Security Act (ATSA)?

The Aviation and Transportation Security Act (ATSA) is a United States federal law passed in the aftermath of the September 11th terrorist attacks in 2001. While the law primarily focuses on aviation security, it also includes provisions related to transportation security, including shipping.

The ATSA established the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), which is responsible for ensuring the security of all modes of transportation in the United States, including shipping. The TSA works with other federal agencies, such as the United States Coast Guard and Customs and Border Protection, to develop and implement security measures for cargo and shipping containers.
