What is Configuration Processing?

Configuration processing in shipping refers to the process of configuring a transportation management system (TMS) to meet the specific needs and requirements of a shipping organization. This typically involves setting up and customizing various features and settings within the TMS, such as carrier rates, routing rules, and shipment tracking parameters.

Configuration processing may also involve integrating the TMS with other systems and applications used by the organization, such as enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, warehouse management systems (WMS), and supply chain management (SCM) software. This integration helps ensure that transportation processes are seamlessly connected to other areas of the organization, and that data is shared across systems in real time.
